Detroit, MICHIGAN—US Lawmakers have released details of the 2016 Homeless Reintegration Program, in which every homeless person in America will be issued a firearm, to "put freedom back into their hands".
An alleged source from United States President Barack Obama's office confirmed the announcement that all registered homeless people in the country would be issued a Government-subsidised firearm for quality-of-life improvement.
"We, at the NRA (National Rifle Association), believe that beggars can—and should—be choosers," said Bernard Marksworth, spokesperson for the NRA.
"The best way to solve the homeless problem is to give every hobo a gun. That way, they can go down to the shop and get whatever they want—bread, cigarettes, cash out—it's a win-win situation."
The projected rollout of the Homeless Reintegration Program, when the first firearm will be officially handed out, is due for April 1, 2016.
While the proposal is promising and undoubtedly beneficial for greater society, global world leaders have expressed their concern over the financial cost of such an ambitious program.
Despite the budgetary hurdles for putting a gun into every homeless person's hand, the mere thought of hobos finally being able to defend and provide for themselves has brought the US lawmakers overwhelming support.
At the press conference for the 2016 Homeless Reintergration Program, it was also said: "Guns are an American, no, international symbol of peace—and that's why we hope that, by 2020, every child and housepet will have their own. God bless America."
